Database backup and recovery is one of the most important parts of earthquake precursor network database maintenance. Now the common method is cold backup which preserves the information on hard disk. Under this situation, here provides a new backup method, logical data pump backup. Combined with the characteristics of earthquake precursors database, it shows the application of data pump backup on earthquake precursor database and the method to solve problems which happen commonly.
