A quantitative inelastic dynamic analysis of damage to shearing modelis studied with the consideration of seismic accumulative effect. Three variants of Takeda’s model with a trilinear envelope and the improved damage model are adopted. The results indicate that first floor of the structure suffers greatest damage;the longer the duration of the earthquake, the more obvious the damage caused by energy accumulation;the damage value of structures varies by different seismic sequence;Damage accumulative effect has great influence on the dynamic behavior of structures suffering earthquakes, i.e. the overall damage of a structure will be greater when accumulative effect is taken into account. Given the results above, damage accumulative performance of building materials and energy absorption and dissipation should be considered during the second phase of structure design. Thus, the most adverse reaction of the structure can be detected and make it reasonable to resist earthquakes.
